Shebbie Shields,Director of Single Adult Ministry Brentwood United Methodist Church Tennessee. Shebbie has worked with singles over 16 years. She works closely with those who are in the crisis of divorce as well as those who are living the Single Again journey. Brentwood is an 8,000 member congregation and the Singles Ministry at Brentwood UMC reaches over 3,000 folks currently.
Mark Wadley has three Master Degrees from Birmingham Theological Seminary and is an ordained minister. He has forty years of teaching experience and discipleship with thousands. In August of 2012, Mark branched out from the Christian counseling agency where he had been for many years, to create a new nonprofit called Live 4 Love (L4L). This ministry is dedicated to teaching and discipleship. He now offers 26 unique courses designed to help us all love God better, love each other better, love ourselves better and love our community better. Mark's reputation for these seminars is outstanding in the greater Birmingham area.
Summer Turner is a consultant and trainer who helps employees break through the barriers to writing excellence in the workplace. Her company is called Business Writing Breakthrough LLC. She is also a passionate knitter who loves to visit yarn shops wherever she travels for business.
JoAnn Scaife stands for Faith, Healing, Abstinence and Purpose. JoAnn is a survivor. Why? Because of her victory over cancer—three times. She recently founded "TABA Music Media," a multi-cultural company that specializes in niche music magazines, artists’ product lines and multimedia products. She is a missionary—helping to develop a school for young women in Africa so they could receive quality education and be spared from a life of prostitution. She is an author— releasing a line of devotionals titled "tiny Devotions" Spring of 2013. And she is an artist—currently working on a full–length devotional/inspirational album to be released spring 2014 internationally. JoAnn is founder and director of Restoration Corner Ministry. She is also a Talk Show Host of two radio shows. She is an intellectual; she is a visionary; she is a role model for human potential. Miss Scaife is a recipient of the Belmont Universities Outstanding Christian Award– an award given to the person with outstanding Christian values exemplified through educational experience and everyday life.
In 1994, she became a history-maker being the first African American and African American female to graduate from the School of Religion at the esteemed Belmont University in Nashville, TN with a B.A. in Liberal Arts, a school that once was a slave plantation in its earlier years. She writes for many music magazines, such as CCM Magazine, Gospel Truth Magazine and Street Chronicles and others across the world,she was featured, sharing her testimony of healing, faith, abstinence and purity.
Amy has been a professional psychotherapist in private practice for 25 years, nine of which were in South Florida. She is a professional therapist, speaker, and writer. Her specialty is Systemic Family Constellations which allows a person to map unique patterns of the family soul to identify and understand the particular position a person finds themselves in with significant others. By identifying and shifting unhealthy positions, people can release pressures and hidden agendas that block the flow of love in relationships and establish divine ways of living and loving themselves and others.
Amy is experienced in bereavement and losses of many kinds, including post-abortion healing, blended families. She teaches strengthening skills for divorce recovery, job changes, empty nest, mid-life and other change of life issues. Amy occasionally utilizes horses when appropriate as a creative, outdoor experience. The use of equine services is rapidly growing in credibility and is an effective means of gaining new insight into unresolved issues. It's not for everyone, but it is useful to many, and is an exciting way to add some spice to team building activities for groups. Amy and her husband Nathan have been married since 1990 and have five children together
Director of Singles Ministry, Cokesbury Church
Joy's ministry experience includes working in both churches and mission organizations for over 40 years in the areas of children, women, and worship. She now currently serves as the Director of Singles Ministry programming at Cokesbury Church, Knoxville, TN. Cokesbury Singles Ministry welcomes you whether you are single by choice or by circumstance. We seek both to find who God really is and to discover who He created us to be…His beloved children. It is our intent to love other singles into a relationship with Jesus Christ to change the world.
John has been an active member of OSL (Order of St. Luke) for many years, serving at the local, state, and national levels. He initially became an OSL chaplain for the Mountain Chapter in Asheville, NC and continues to serve as chaplain for the River of Healing Chapter in Hayesville, NC, where he is pastor of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church. From 2006 to 2009, John was the OSL North Carolina State Chaplain. In 2010, he became a member of the OSL North American Board, currently serving as board vice-president.
John loves to pray with others for God’s gift of healing – the gift of wellness and wholeness. He has been blessed to lead healing prayer workshops in dozens of churches throughout Region 3 over the past fifteen years. Many of these workshops helped provide the energy and enthusiasm to form new OSL chapters, mostly in western North Carolina and upstate South Carolina. Over the last three years, John has led a healing prayer team to the Diocese of Durgapur, located between Kolkuta, India and Bangladesh.
